About

Watercolor painting has been a lifelong joy for Audrey, which led to the creation of this book. Throughout her childhood in Georgia, to early adulthood in Montana and into motherhood on Kiawah Island, sketching and painting flowers in her relaxed artistic style has been a constant, beloved pastime. After several years living on Kiawah, she wanted to know more about the nature she observed everyday and began painting her way through the Native Plant Guide for the island. Before long, she had a stack of paintings that was steadily growing by the week, and the idea formed to turn the project into a coffee table book. Native Plants of Kiawah Island: A Collection of Watercolors is the culmination of her love for nature, painting and, fortuitously, oversized Art books. Audrey continues to paint new native plant species whenever a quiet moment presents itself, enjoying the comfort of her watercolors and the excitement of a new growing stack of plants to explore.
